Job Title: Medical Surgical Nurse - Post-Op Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: 2 years required License: Compact or local license in hand upon submission Certifications: AHA certifications required Must-Have: Acute care experience, Medical/Surgical and post-op experience, Experience on a post-op unit, Minimum of one completed travel contract Description: This position requires post-op experience, specifically in GI and wound care. Candidates must have experience with patient diagnoses such as pancreatitis, GI bleeds, bowel obstructions, wound infections, and more. Special procedures may include esophagectomy, colectomy, thyroidectomy, and various others mentioned in the initial description. Familiarity with equipment like PEG, PCA, surgical drains, and similar is preferred. The manager may consider a blocked schedule if the candidate is willing to work weekend blocks. COVID-19 and Flu vaccines are required, with exemptions for medical or religious reasons. Orientation will consist of eight hours. References will be required to obtain clearance for the contract, and managers or supervisors should provide these references. Specific certifications such as AWHONN Intermediate for L&D and CPI for applicable roles are also needed.
